Halloween afternoon. Made shot at adult doe but never recovered her. Looked like I hit her low in the brisket area. Arrow passed clean through her, but the blood was sparse. No Vikings game today, but I still got out late. Went to a ladder stand just behind the house. You can see the gun tower overlooking a small food plot. ***Update***Ended up seeing "Onie", a one antlered one year old that has been bedding by the pole barn all summer. Also saw three doe come in from the neighbor's place north of me. They all scampered when they heard the neighbor's dogs barking.

Here is a photo of the tower blind I just finished. Well, except for the tarp roof that I need to spray paint. Camo colors will work a little better than the blue/grey thing.A little "honey hole" spot that is looking good. Mixture of clovers and chicory. My second year clover and chicory blend that I've mowed four times already. The mowing has pretty much cleared a lot of grass from the field.

Sunday, October 26, 2008It was really windy again so I sat under the rifle box tower on the east side of the corn/rye/clover plot. There are tracks all over that field. They've obviously been eating up the rye and the little bit of corn is gone. I planted some pumpkin seeds late; around the 4th of July. Got out on Sunday, the 14th for an afternoon/evening hunt.
